Last Night's 5min Dessert
I quickly made Brown Rice Pudding last night for dessert. It was was fast, easy, and so yummy! All three of us enjoyed it.

Bold Nails
This time of year is the best time to show your color!
I love bold and whimsical nail colors and they are so HOT right now!! Purple, blue, green, yellow.... you don't have to be a teenie bopper to pull them off either. Done right you can wear blue polish to work (just make sure it is darker shade on neat short nails). Boring nails are out! Fun nails are IN!
I have been known to match my toe nail color to my yoga mat or my pilates pants.
If you are unsure about how often you are really going to be wearing yellow polish, don't go out and buy a $18 bottle of polish. Forever 21 sells fun polish is a multitude of colors for only $2.80! Duane Read, CVS, and the like also carry cheaper brands that do the job.
If you are over the age of 16, remember you might want to stay away from a wacky color with glitter in it and stay away from patterns. A bold, fun, bright color can be modern and funky with out being tacky.

fashion and fashionable
One thing I miss most about LA is the freedom to be fashionable and bold. There is an unspoken rule on the East Coast that you must conform. That black is the perfect color for all occasions and that if you have the balls to wear color you will bring attention to yourself. If you can pull of wearing bold colors than they must be in the form of a "uniform." Is it that DC just doesn't have enough stores? To fine formal business attire you can only shop at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave, Bloomingdales (by the way they carry the same exact clothes...not too original there!). Do you have to travel to NYC to find something unique? Something new and fresh?
In LA, everyone is brining attention to themselves and therefore no one sticks out. I miss the whimsy you can have in that type of environment. Being creative, let alone having a since of fashion in DC, I find to be difficult to maneuverer.
